Q.What is a Consignment Note Number?
A. Each consignment note is printed with a set of bar coded digits, called consignment note number. At point of pick up, each parcel/document will be attached with a consignment note. Sender or receivers any query their shipment by quoting the respective consignment note number.

A. No. There is no limit on the weight or to the number of pieces you may send.

Q. How do I attach a commercial invoice when I ship with City-Link?
A. An original commercial invoice should always be provided for parcels to be sent overseas. This is a customs requirement and will result in delay if not complied with.

A. Yes, the driver will automatically attempt delivery to a residence the next business day. After several attempt, the package will be held at the local City-Link office until delivery arrangement are made.

A. Volumetric weight, sometimes called or dimensional weight is a more accurate reading of the costs of shipping a package.

A. L x W x H (cm) / 6000 = Volumetric weight (kg).Please kindly check with the nearest City-Link office if you have any doubt. (Length x Width x Height)

Q. Will City-Link accept any of my shipment for courier?
A. City-Link will not accept the following items for courier: CASH (in any currency), CASH CHEQUES, NEGOTIABLE INSTRUMENT (shares certificate, bonds, etc),JEWELLERY / PRECIOUS METALS AND STONES, PERSONAL DOCUMENTS (identity cards, passport, certificates, etc), WORKS OF ART, FIREARMS/EXPLOSIVES, ALL TOBACCO, PERISHABLE FOODSTUFF, ANY OTHER DANGEROUS OR HAZARDOUS ITEMS, HANDPHONES and any goods or materials that are prohibited by any law, rule or regulation of any country.

Q. Can City-Link deliver to post office box?
A. Unless a special arrangement or agreement has been made with your company, the answer to this question is no. The reason is simple : P.O. Boxes require a key and the driver cannot leave the package.

A. Yes. But when doing so they will travel "at shippers risk", which means they cannot be insured against damage.

Q. Is there anything special I have to do to send a shipment to a destination outside of Malaysia?
A. Yes. City-Link has a special "International Waybill" that is used when sending goods outside of the country, so you should be sure to use this. If you are sending a non document shipment, you will also have to complete any / all required customs paperwork else your shipment will not be allowed to enter the country it is destined for (e.g. Pro Forma Invoice).

Q. What is City-Link Liability?
A. City-Link liability shall be limited to a sum of RM200 or its equivalent per consignment or the value of the consignment shipment, whichever is lesser. The limited sum may differ in different countries, please also check with our nearest office. City-Link shall not be liable for consequential loss however arising.

A. The sender or receiver must notify City-Link delivery branch or customer service department immediately to facilitate investigations.

Q. How do I file a claim?
A. Any claims brought against City-Link with respect to damaged consignment must be made in writing within 48 hours and for lost consignment notification must be made within 21 days from the day when the documents or goods should have reached their destination.

Q. How long will a claim process take?
A. Claims will only be processed by City-Link upon receipt of claim letter attached with a copy of consignment note. A credit note will be issued for valid claims* to account holders and a cheque for cash customers will be issued upon completion of investigation. Process time period will entail approximately 4 weeks.
